There should be a line between freedom and ponography. Is Janet Jackson's nudity of the breast intentional or "wardrobe malfunction"? Either way, the public, at a superbowl and other fora like the TV, deserve to watch what is pleasing to their sensibilities.

I agree on this point. But its not that simple. There is a bigger problem here and it is "same media for different people".
People have differnt cultures and differnt sets of values and norms.
The ethics and norms for media are drived from public . Basically media is drived by public values.People belonging to different ethinicities are very different in their acceptance, taste and oppenness. With globalization,People of the world are becomming one , yet they are very much deiiferent because of their different ethenic backgrounds. In contrast to the people, media practices are not made considering the values off all people. As it is obvious observation that western media is dominant perticularly American and British. Eastern values are under represented.
So it is a problem to define the ethics and norms for international media practices which are acceptable to all. But still I believe it is safer and conventional for media to stick to the reserved and conservative approach.
I don't know may be I think this way because I am baised due tomy eastern background .
Everyone has different viewpoint to see that event, and you point out a dilemmatic issue with your journalist profession.
I wonder if the major media or audience care of Janet's feelings?
